Geoffrey Jay Dameg, 43, of Hilo died March 6 at Hilo Medical Center. He was a manager and cook at Ling’s Chop Suey Restaurant and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Thomas Nobuo Fukui, 81, of Hilo died March 3 at home. Born in Laupahoehoe, he was a retired funeral attendant for Dodo Mortuary, delivery person for Kui &I Florist and Floral Mart, former stonemason, member of The House Hilo and Hawaii Air National Guard veteran. Anthony Everett Gomes, 84, of Kaapahu, Honokaa, died March 6 at home. Born in Kalopa, he was a retired Waimea district supervisor for the county Department of Water Supply, rancher, formerly employed by the state Department of Fish and Game, and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Hawaii Saddle Club, Honokaa High School Class of 1955, and U.S. Air Force veteran. Visitation 8-10 a.m. Saturday, March 26, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Honokaa. Memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Urn burial to follow at Kalopa Catholic Cemetery. Casual attire. Edward Akira Kobata Sr., 98, of Hawi died Jan. 8 at home. Born in Honolulu, he was a diesel mechanic in the Marshall Islands and member of Operating Engineers in California, Club 100 and a U.S. Army 442nd Regimental Combat Team veteran. Private services.
